Nothing symbolizes resilience against the northern climate better than a good old concrete fortress. Concrete masonry is the foundation of Montreal’s built landscape.

So we pulled material straight from the ground below and created a solid concrete mass. Luminous horizontal slits cut through it to guide passersby, and a zigzag platform projects out above the quarry.
